Spring in the Air (and Giveaway Winner)

We returned from a little trip to South Carolina this weekend to some of the first signs of spring.  I went with a friend, our four girls and my mom to a homeschool convention and we had a great time!  Today we were back to our Monday routine, along with getting the house back to normal and somewhere around six loads of laundry.  We had rain and thunderstorm warnings all day, but somewhere around dinner time the sun came out and afterwards we all ran outside for a breath of fresh, (almost) spring air.  Forsythia bushes are in full bloom and Bradford Pears are covered in white blossoms... the birds are chirping and the days are getting warmer... I think spring is in the air!

Huck might need a haircut.

The chicken house in progress.

Thank you to all who entered the giveaway for the amazing grain sack package that Ann from On Sutton Place put together.  I know we both appreciated each and every lovely comment!

The randomly drawn winner of the giveaway is Cristi Copeland! Congratulations!

Have a great week!

  2. I love Huck!
I keep bringing in forsythia branches, but they just go right to green leaves. No yellow blossoms here for me and I'm not sure why. Glad you are enjoying some! We're probably a month from fruit blossoms starting here. Our wild plums are usually the first to bloom.
I love these first days of Spring--even if my bulb shoots are getting sprinkled with snow. There is hope!

  12. I am so glad Spring is dipping her toe into the waters of Tennessee both in your neck of the woods and mine! Winter may stay as a guest for at least one more week, but at least we have hope of sunshine and warmth from those glorious sun rays. Beautiful images of your girls and sweet puppy!

  14. We've been having spring, too--isn't it wonderful? Last week all the trees started blossoming. Think your photos of your girls capture how we all feel when the sun comes through again. Just LOVE those dirt smudges on Loretta's knees. :-)

  15. I am really envious of those blossoms on your trees. And the forsythia?! Oh my. We're still stuck in the depths of a cold, frozen winter here in PA. Despite the fact that tomorrow is the first day of spring! Can't wait for those blossoms to show their beautiful little faces around our yard!

  27. Loving those spring pictures! I'm quite ready for spring here even tho we haven't really had much "winter" weather. At least we haven't had hardly any snow. It's just that by the time the end of March comes I'm sure most of us are ready for some warm sunshine & new green life showing up!
