This week we had our first snowfall of the season. I was up before the sun (and the girls) rose, taking in the peaceful, fresh air.
Admiring the beauty of the sun rising and glinting through the snow covered branches...
We were all outside after breakfast. The girls had seen the snow start falling the night before and they were beyond excited, giggling and running around.
Jillian must have spent half the day outside, making snowballs and playing. (I spent half the day at the window, watching her and smiling to myself!)
Our poor hens didn't know what to think of the snow. They spent half the day staring at the snow from their coop and clucking until they finally ventured out to enjoy the sunny day once it started to melt.
Happy Valentine's Day!
Great photos!! Your girls are adorable!
ReplyDeleteThe joy of your girls and doggie (chicken too) amongst the snowy landscape. Beautiful sunrise. Stunning photography. Kathleen in Az
ReplyDeletePretty photos, Andrea. We had quite a snowfall here too. Not sure of the totals, but I'd guess a good 6-8 inches. I had to leave work early Wednesday and work from home on Thursday. It was beautiful to see the snow coming down so hard. Having grown up in NY/NJ, I had had my fill of winter weather and was happy to move south 25 years ago. But after a while I began to miss the snow. This week's weather has been great. I just feel bad for all the people who were in traffic accidents on Wednesday.

So pretty! Although we are on our atleast 5th snow storm in Rhode Island your pictures made me appreciate the beauty of the snow. Happy Valentine's to you and your family!
ReplyDeleteLove your photos. Inspiring, as always. We had snow here in ATL. It slowed the world and our lives down, and that was a good thing!
ReplyDeleteLoved your beautiful photos! This California girl misses the snow of my youth growing up in Minnesota❄
ReplyDeletesweet. great photos. hope you had a lovely valentines day!
ReplyDeleteAs everyone has already said...."Beautiful PHOTOS"... simply pretty. I love me a snow (rainy) day... and here of late, we've had our fair share. But, I know there are others who've even had more than we have.
ReplyDeleteI love the reminder, each time. That it is a picture of Jesus' Cleansing Power to make us "whiter than snow". Such grace..
Happy Valentine's Day! (one day late..)
Huck looks sooo happy running through the snow! I live in Michigan. And it has snowed here almost every day for a few months. I am really looking forward to spring:) The weather man says we should have a day next week @ 47degrees. We will all be out in our t shirts and shorts celebrating!!!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty. Unfortunately we can't take any more snow. It is snowing right now and I'm so over it it's not funny. Need to see grass. Fell like this is the longest winter ever. The chickens fare well in winter? The coop has heaters? So lovely.

Thanks for sharing these beautiful photos!
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentine's Day to you and your beautiful family. I am so tired of the snow we have here but it is fun to see the kids playing in it- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteYour snow photos are breathtaking! I love the photo of your dog leaping in the distance in the snow as well as the one of Miss Clucky not feeling all that lucky to be out in the snow. What a beautiful narrative of your snow day in both words and photos!
ReplyDeleteWhile your photos are pretty and your children are adorable, I can't help but feel a little jealous. We have had way too much snow and the temps are so cold this year, I have been hibernating as much as possible. So glad that you all enjoyed the snow!
ReplyDeleteGreat shots and your girls are getting so big!
ReplyDeletebeautiful pictures. You embraced the snow much better than I did here in Georgia! :) The kids sure love it, though, especially when it's not a regular occurrence.

Your photos are so beautiful. I'm glad you and the girls enjoyed the snow...we're pretty darn sick of it here in northern IL! In fact, it's snowing again right now. We're due for another 4-8" today.
ReplyDeleteI've looked at this post several times in the last few days and I just can't get over how gorgeous your pictures are. Those of the girls are so precious! And the one of Huck running in action!!! Love them all. ~ Mom ~
ReplyDeleteI have desired to write something similar to this on my webpage Cccam Server which has given me an idea. Keep working, good post! This was the info I needed to know.
ReplyDeleteFirst snowfall of the season? Lucky you! Enjoy the snow while you have it.
ReplyDeleteThe pics are amazing!
Greetings,

How fun, kids (and dogs) are just drawn to snow! We haven't been without snow for two months here in Wyoming, and my kids still aren't sick of it lol!
ReplyDeleteYour snow day looked like so much fun! Even Huck was leaping with joy :) We have had more snow than usual here in NC and we loved it. Your hen has gotten so big, and quite beautiful, may I ask her name? Hope all is well with you and your family, have a wonderful weekend.
