Can you guess what I am excited to share tonight?
(I know, the food is probably throwing you off.)
Well, this is a project that has been sitting around since March. And one I am so excited to have finished so we can ENJOY it!
BEFORE:
We've been without a picnic table for about a year now. So for my husband's birthday this year my brother and sister-in-law brought over this old table that came with their old farmhouse and a new fancy umbrella. We were thrilled to have a new picnic table, but didn't have a chance to work on it until last week.
I had to dig deep for a "before" picture and this is all I could find. You can see the table was old and needed some TLC, but it was all wood and sturdy as could be.
So, handy hubby built some bunches around the table and replaced a rotting board on the table top. I couldn't decide whether to paint the table red or green (to match our roof), but when I saw "Farm Red" paint on clearance at Tractor Supply, that made the decision easy. (smile)
(And, if you'd read my blog for a while, you have to know I was happy to be painting something that wasn't bead board and wasn't white - ha!)
AFTER:
I love to eat outside so I really am excited to have this project finished! And the "new" picnic table seems to fit our back deck just perfect.
You can see here that the table is actually pretty red.
Just an old, simple table... perfect for enjoying summer evenings together.
Hope you are having a great week so far. Our little Rosy turns 1 tomorrow!
Just perfect and I love the color red!
ReplyDeleteIt's perfect in every good country way!
ReplyDeleteNow hurry up and pour that tea before I die!
How in the world did you ever come up with the bench idea?! Just perfect for casual eating outside!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to Rosy!
What a fun picnic table. Your husband is so handy. Love the red too. Red is my accent color as well for our outside accents. Your flowers are so pretty. The zinnas and vintage table cloth are so country simple. You have such a good eye for your photos. I see many a hours being spent by your girls at that adorable table, whether it be just lunching or sitting with a coloring book. What a nice addition to your back porch.
ReplyDeleteLOVE your picnic table! Your husband is so handy to build the benches around it. Great idea!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to little Rosy! Mary Alice

What a great, clever table re-do. Love the color, too. Happy birthday to your little angel- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteThe bench surround is a great idea / that table looks brand new. So attractive!
ReplyDeleteHappy B day to your little one!

I love your new/old picnic table, especially the color and the umbrella. By the way, I got my house number sign from Ramsign this week and it's gorgeous. Thank you again for the wonderful giveaway.
ReplyDeleteGreat job! I love the engineering you guys figured out to make the seats. Very smart. I like this way better than the 2 sided picnic tables. A circular seating area encourages conversation you know. You've sparked an idea. I can see I have a new project to add to my already long list. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThe red is so pretty! Y'all did an amazing job! And as always your photography is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI know you must be proud of your smart and handy husband for creating this great table for your family. Well, your red paint job looks pretty cool, too. I bet the renovated table is built better than many new ones. Your photos are lovely. I enjoy your blog very much.------

ReplyDeleteWhat a great table. I've never seen that style of picnic table before but I love the fact that the benches are attached and it certainly looks stable. I love the red. I would like to have a table like that as the design is perfect. What a great present! Happy Birthday to your little one too...belated and hubby also!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love what you have done with that table! Red is my absolute favorite color for outdoor wood furniture!! Very country!
ReplyDeleteRed is my favorite color so you know your project turned out perfectly imo. You did a fantastic job!
