Meet the newest member of our family, Huck.
Huck got to come home last night... Justus and I decided to surprise Jillian. She's been begging us for months for a puppy. Oh, you should have seen her last night when Justus made it home with him. It was precious. She was so excited... I actually videoed it on my phone and I should try to find a way to post it!
This morning we woke up to cold, cloudy skies and before we knew it, snow was coming down. This is the most snow we have had this winter, so after breakfast we bundled up and played outside until we could no longer feel our toes and fingers.
The girls and Huck ran and jumped and played (come to think of it, it was probably only my toes and fingers that were frozen). Here's Rosetta with a snowball venturing a taste.
Huck is a Moyen Poodle (a small Standard) and is 10 weeks old. Justus and I both adore poodles as they are the perfect family dog - friendly, affectionate, devoted, and so sweet. (They also do not shed and are allergy friendly, which is a huge plus.) Our beloved Standard Poodle passed away two years ago and it feels wonderful to have a dog in our family again.
As you can imagine, Jillian has not wanted to put him down (and neither have the rest of us, for that matter). Do you love puppy cuddles as much as I do?
I hope you have a great weekend!
Your girls and Huck are totally precious! Congrats on the new member of the family! Enjoy....

Oh my...adorable pics!
ReplyDeleteI was just saying a couple of weeks ago that I miss the smell of puppies. They have their own distinctive smell like babies do. Now our two puppies are grown dogs and they mostly smell like stink - the hazards of sharing a couple of rainy acres with our horse. -Jennifer
ReplyDeleteSo cute - although I'd best not show this post to my daughter!
ReplyDeleteI love when we get snow - the kid are so entertained, aren't they? Looks like everyone had fun.
Huck is adorable...I can see why your daughters are overjoyed! It's so great that you could all romp in the snow together with him on his first day in his new home. Oh, I could eat him up! :)
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
Congratulations on your new addition! He's a cutie.

Huck is adorable! We are hoping (and praying) to get a Golden Retriever very soon. Can't wait!
ReplyDeleteI sure do love puppy cuddles! I don't think I could see a professional ad that would more make me want to buy a puppy like Huck or beautiful little snow togs for beautiful children than your photos do, in that lovely snow.
ReplyDeleteThat is the most adorable dog. Combined with those two precious little girls, I'd say you have the perfect family. (Your husband included of course).

Huck is adorable!! Your girls look like they adore him already!
ReplyDeleteFirst thing out of my mouth upon seeing this post today was "Oh my Gosh!!" I'm so excited for your whole family. Huck is just beautiful. The picture of the girls on the step of your porch is adorable. Look at little Rosetta. So cute. I look forward to many fun puppy posts in the near future. Have fun!

Huck is a lucky dog. It looks as if he will give and receive lots of love in your family.
ReplyDeleteOh, Huck is adorable! I have a weakness for poodles myself. Stop by for a visit and meet Ben; he's probably in most of the pics I post, lol!

Your new pup, Huck, is so cuddly and beautiful! Congratulations on the new family member. The pics of your girls are so beautiful, I'd have to frame them - just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteHuck is adorable! And I am so very happy for you and your family! We recently added a new dog, (English Cocker Spaniel) to our family after our beloved Cocker boy passed awqy this past July. We do have an older dog too who will be 17 in a couple of weeks, but we wanted to have a puppy that the girls could grow up with. It sure does make things even better to have a puppy around. Y'all have a wonderful weekend and enjoy both your new puppy and the snow!
ReplyDeleteYour girlies, AND new puppy, are all adorable!!
ReplyDeleteOh Huck is just adorable! We have a Shih Tzu named Jack who brings us so much joy. Our kids are 14 and 10, so Jack is the baby of the family. Poodles and Shih Tzu are both allergy friendly and that was important to us too. The snow is beautiful! We got to enjoy our first snow last week here in NC. It seems to make everyone so happy :) Your girls look full of joy with your new baby. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteHuck, is so so cute and your girls are so cute with him.

I agree that your photos could sell a lot of poodle puppies. The girls look like they're in seventh heaven and Huck looks pretty comfortable, too!
ReplyDeleteThis puppy is so adorable! He is already so obviously loved. I love doggy cuddles and my Pom loves to give them. Dogs are such wonderful companions and give children so much love. That last picture is the best. Thank you for making me smile this AM. Regena in TN.
ReplyDeleteAh yes love puppy cuddles too! He's adorable! By the way, we have alot of snow and I wanted to make beef stew this weekend PLUS you had me craving biscuits. However the cat got into most of my pictures so in the end I did a post about my cat baking biscuits..it's quite silly and I thought my grands would like to read it...if you get time Jillian might get a laugh out of it as well. You can tell her the cat just doubled her recipe : )
ReplyDeleteWe surprised our daughter with a puppy at Christmastime just over 2 years ago. It was priceless.
