Happy November! I wanted to pop in today to tell you about a really delicious recipe. Before we all went trick-or-treating, my family came over for supper. While I was preparing the meal, I decided that I also wanted to make an easy dessert that could be eaten quickly, but I didn't have much in my fridge or pantry. Then I recalled this recipe from The Pioneer Woman (we all know you can't go wrong with a recipe of hers).
I'm sorry that this is the best photo I have... I didn't think to take photos while I was preparing the dessert and by this morning it was already more than half eaten (smile). But basically it involves just a few ingredients that likely you would already have on hand and then some preserves. Her recipe calls for strawberry, but I used apricot.
The recipe title is kind of deceiving, because it actually sounds healthy, but really these are just gooey, buttery deliciousness.
You can find the recipe here.
This photo is to show you what a "photo shoot" looks like at our house. While I was trying to take a photo of a bar, Rosetta was climbing up on the chairs with her spoon trying to get a taste... let's just say I have more photos with her hand and spoon than without (smile). It didn't take us any time at all to gobble up our "prop".
P.S. Speaking of trick-or-treating, we had a great time tromping through the leaves on a cold fall evening. Here we are as we set out after enjoying our apricot oatmeal bars...
